FAQ

Why is your site anonymously-run?
We want people to concentrate on what we’re saying, not on who’s saying it. We feel it helps keep the conversation on-topic. Also, we’d prefer not to distract from the site’s all about by throwing in additional variables. We also feel it’s important the spotlight be on the work and the people we’re featuring, not the site’s authors.

Who contributes to the site?
The authors of The Sydney Egotist are varied in their talents and interests, making the site robust and perpetually fresh. We invite everyone in the community to write editorial at any time. We’re happy to give credit to anyone who takes the time to craft a piece or they can choose to remain anonymous.

Is the site associated with an agency?
Nope.

Will all work submitted be featured?
No. The Sydney Egotist posts information and editorial relevant to the demanding creative connoisseur working in Sydney and beyond. We’re critical with our recommendations, as it is our desire to become a trusted resource. All work and links submitted to The Sydney Egotist will be examined with a critical eye. The top work will be featured.

Why has my comment or forum thread been deleted?
It was likely deleted because we thought it harmful. And that’s against the rules here. If you wouldn’t say it to someone’s face, then don’t say it. We like to keep it that simple.

Can I start a version of this site in my own city?
The Egotist platform is built to be launched in cities around the world for local market reporting and community-building. Learn more about starting your local version here.
